HTech recently launched the HONOR X9b smartphone. Marketed as an affordable option that can meet various customer needs, the HONOR X9b aims to stand out on paper with specs like a 1.5k resolution display and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. The device also utilizes ultra-bounce anti-drop display technology and a reinforced chassis for added durability.

However, specifications do not always translate clearly to real-world experience. So in this article we will know in detail about HONOR X9b specifications and price in Bangladesh.

An In-depth Review on HONOR X9b

HONOR X9b offers several notable features and specifications. Key specifications include the phone's processor, display size, camera capabilities, memory options, and battery capacity. Details are given below

Design & Build Quality

The Honor X9b took design inspiration from Realme. However, it focused on robustness and style. It achieved five star drop resistance certification up to 1.5 meters from SGS Switzerland. Shock-absorbing material called "cushioning technology" provides structural integrity against drops on all six faces and four corners of the display on hard surfaces like marble without tempered glass.

The curved screen smartphone has a plastic frame and lightweight 185g body at 7.98mm thick, comfortable for prolonged use. Its 5,800mAh battery provides all-day power. IP53 rating protects against minor splashes.

The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen has 1.5k resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1200 nits brightness, and 1920 Hz PWM dimming. The center punch-hole camera doesn't impact the immersive, vivid, and high contrast viewing experience. Bezels are thin but not the thinnest seen. Outdoor visibility and 120Hz refresh across UI and apps are good.

Cameras

The Honor X9b's primary camera is a 108MP sensor paired with 5MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro lenses. A 16MP front camera enables selfies and video calls. Main camera image quality is acceptable in good light, outputting sharp 12MP images, though colors are saturated and dynamic range could be better. It captures good portraits but smoothens facial details and high contrast tones.

The 5MP ultra-wide camera fails to capture crisp shots due to low resolution. Colors appear faded with noticeable framing warping and its 110 degree field of view is narrow. The 2MP macro struggles avoiding light blockage at 4cm, resulting in hazy fine detail shots. Daylight selfies are likable but skin tones inaccurate. Low light performance is underwhelming versus competitors.

Performance & Software

This smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC. It features an octa-core chipset with up to 2.2GHz clock speed, Adreno A710 GPU, and a built-in 5G modem. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage, though RAM is virtually expandable up to 8GB using storage.

Benchmark scores show it achieving 484,172 on AnTuTu. Geekbench scores were 855 for single-core and 2,828 for multi-core. It can perform at 83% of peak CPU performance. Real-world usage was satisfactory. It can handle most apps without crashes or freezes for streaming, browsing, navigation, and some gaming like BGMI at moderate graphics.

It runs Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2 with 2 years of upgrades and 3 years of security support expected. The software is customized with Honor apps and usual Google apps. It looks intuitive to navigate with quick actions suggested.

Connectivity

The HONOR X9b supports 5G which allows you to experience really fast internet speeds and low lag. Whether you’re streaming videos, playing games online, or doing video calls, 5G ensures a smooth and responsive connection.

It works with Wi-Fi 6 which connects to the latest Wi-Fi routers for faster speeds, better coverage, and better performance in crowded areas. Whether you’re at home, in a cafe, or at the office, Wi-Fi 6 ensures a reliable connection.

The smartphone connects easily with Bluetooth 5.1 devices. Whether you’re pairing wireless earbuds, speakers, or smartwatches, the X9b ensures stable and efficient communication.  It syncs effortlessly with other smart devices. Whether it’s sharing files between your phone and laptop or controlling smart home devices, the X9b makes your digital life easier.

Accurate navigation is important, and the X9b delivers with improved GPS accuracy. Whether you’re exploring a new city or tracking your morning run, you can rely on precise location information.

Battery & Charging

The Honor X9b has a large 5,800mAh battery that is rated for up to three days of use. In practice, felt the need to charge after two days with moderate usage. Heavy users may need a charge after a day and a half. Almost nine hours of screen time is impressive. However, the battery test results and charging speed are so low.

In the PCMark battery test, it scored 13 hours and 34 minutes, less than some phones with 5,000mAh batteries. It supports 35W fast charging but only ships with a 30W charger for a limited time. Even with a 30W charger, a 0-100% charge takes about two and a half hours, which could be faster.

Honor X9b price in Bangladesh

The Honor X9b has an official price in Bangladesh of BDT 41,999 for the 12GB RAM, 256GB storage model. An unofficial variant is available for BDT 33,000. Customers can purchase the Honor X9b from Honor's official brand shops, authorized retailers, and online stores. It is available in three color options: Sunrise Orange, Midnight Black, and Emerald Green.

Final Word

The Honor X9b is an appealing smartphone with durability, stylish design, and an impressive 5,800mAh battery that can keep users powered throughout the day. It also excels with a 120Hz AMOLED display and 108MP primary camera performing well in daylight. However, if prioritizing top performance, faster charging or versatile cameras, you may want to explore other options.

Alternatives to consider include the POCO X6 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. The Realme 12 Pro+ focuses on cameras while the Motorola Edge 40 offers clean software, IP68 rating and wireless charging. The POCO X6 Pro lacks a curved screen but stands out as one of the most powerful and featured phones in its segment.
