An In-Depth Review on Google Pixel 9a
The Google Pixel 9a is one of the most recent smartphones in the Pixel series and has top-end specifications despite its mid-price tag. Here are its main features along with the comparison to other similar smartphone models in terms of price range. It is also important to note the advantages and disadvantages of the device in order to assess its potential in practical use.
That way you will learn about Pixel 9a performance, camera, display, and battery. Also, we will provide the Google Pixel 9a price in Bangladesh so that you can understand whether the device is suitable for you or not.
Box Content
This is what you get inside the Google Pixel 9a box:
- Google Pixel 9a Smartphone
- USB Type-C cable
- Silicone case
- User manual
- SIM tool

The packaging of the Google Pixel 9a was quite straightforward and uncomplicated. In the box, there is the phone itself, USB-C to USB-C cable, and USB-C Quick Switch Adapter for data transfer. However, it lacks a charger or earphones, which is not new from Google. The packaging is quite concise and it also gives an environment-friendly feel.
As much as I liked the sustainability theme, I did not find it convenient not to have a charging brick. If you’re upgrading, you will, of course, have to purchase one separately. In total, the box is minimum with basic tools and accessories required to get a feel of the device.
Design & Build Quality
First things first, when I first hold the Google Pixel 9a in my hand, I was pretty impressed with its build quality which is usually a bit left to be desired in mid-rangers. It is fashionable and uncomplicated at the same time, which is quite appealing. The back of the smartphone is flat and clean and to the delight of many, there is no camera hump on this model. It is thin, light and does not feel heavy even when used for a long time.
The back of the phone is made of matte plastic and doesn’t have any thoughts of cheapness to it. Fingerprints do not stick to it easily, in fact, I liked this aspect during my day to day usage. The body is made of an aluminum frame, which provides a strong and solid construction to the device. The buttons are physically clicking, and everything is built quite solid and does not flex or rattle.

One of the key features that was noticeable in the smartphones was the water and dust resistance up to IP68. This is a very useful feature, especially given the price, or at least for those who are as clumsy as me. It is also good to note that there are a number of colors to choose from and they are simple, neat, and look very much like the Pixel.
The front is dominated by a screen with thin edges and the hole-punch camera situated at the top. The display is also protected by the Gorilla Glass feature that enhances the device’s durability. In my case of using it for a couple of weeks, I have not faced any experience of scratches or getting them scratched.
All in all, this being the first time that Google is bringing out the Pixel 9a, the design that has been used feels very well thought and sturdy. While it is not a product that can be associated with luxury or glamour, it provides other important aspects: cosiness, sturdiness and the beauty of simple forms. In terms of long-term use and a clean and less cluttered design, this phone does not disappoint.
Display
Google Pixel 9a has a 6.3 inches P-OLED display and let me tell you, it is one of the finest I have used in this bracket. Straight from the get-go, I was captivated with the lively colors, the blacks, and the contrast ratio of the screen. It didn’t matter if I was browsing Youtube, using social networks or editing pictures, the images looked clear and high-resolution.
The most outstanding feature of this phone is the FHD+ resolution which is 2424 x 1080. It provides clear image quality and a sense of luxury when reading texts or watching the content. The size of the device is also perfect, it is not bulky nor is it small and perfect for one hand use.
There is a significant difference in the refresh rate of the newer version as compared to the older models. The Pixel 9a now supports 120Hz, which enhances the animation and makes the operation more fluent. You can particularly feel it when scrolling or using the app switcher on an iPhone. As soon as one adapts to the 120Hz refresh rate, it is difficult to switch to a lower one.

During day time, the brightness of the screen is good considering that this is in part enhanced by the back-lighting. I can recall taking it outside a number of times, and clarity was never a concern that I had. Despite having limited brightness, it performs its function adequately and without much strain.
It is also worthy of note that the always-on display feature is again available. It is effective in making sure of the time, date, or receiving notifications without having to wake the phone.
One can state that Pixel 9a provides an exclusive and polished impression in terms of the display. It is not the flagship level but it certainly offers more than enough to rival and in some areas surpass many of the smartphones in this market segment. If you are considering the quality of display, then this one will not let you down.
Camera
The camera performance of the Google Pixel 9a remains as expected of Pixel phones. It has been my go-to camera for the past two weeks, and I must say that I am quite satisfied with its performance. It also carries the 48MP main camera together with the 13MP ultra-wide lens. The two provide clean, detailed, and accurate color images that do not require much editing right on the camera application.
Daylight Photo:
In good lighting, the Google Pixel 9a delivers exceptional photo quality. It used it outdoors during sunny days, during the cloudy afternoons and even indoors in well lit rooms and the results were always good.

This is in line with the high resolution camera of 48MP to deliver bright and vibrant images. In all the photographs I took, there was much detail, sharp contrasts and broad tonal separation. The color in the sky stayed true to the color of the real sky, the leaves on the trees are blooming, and the skin color of the human figure is realistic. Google does a great job in the image enhancement and in particular in minimizing the effect on the shadows without overloading the images with colours.
Low Light Photo:
The star of the show is Night Sight. Just like in the case of HDR, Google’s image processing also incorporates artificial intelligence for illumination of the shadowy areas, the reduction of noise, and maintaining the fine particulars of an image even in the low light scenarios. Thanks to that I was able to get clear and well balanced pictures even without the use of the flash.
Skin tones were accurate, and skin tones were not overexposed. Still, even in the handheld form, the photos were adequately detailed and the stabilization was great as well as correctly exposed photos.
Other advantages of the app include, Selfies are taken via the front camera and other standard shots via the back camera in the portrait mode. The edges are detected perfectly well and the blur effect looks quite genuine and not overdone. The main lens is very good, but the ultra-wide lens is not as sharp as the main one and is great for group photos and landscapes. Nevertheless, it is rather useful at this price.

Video quality is also impressive. You can record 4K at 60fps with rather stable image stabilization. It is perfect for some vlog-like scenes and I was able to get smooth tracking shots without necessarily having to use a gimbal. The audio quality is also good, especially when it comes to the voices and the audio quality of the videos that content creators who are on a tight budget will particularly appreciate.
The 13MP front camera also does a good job, particularly in well lit conditions. Selfies are exactly what can be expected from a phone; natural, and the video calls are sharp.
The Pixel 9a punches above its weight in the camera department. It is ideal for those who want a solid camera for casual use and those who do not need a flagship-model performance, but do not want to spend a lot of money. Google expresses yet again that it is the smart software that matters.
Performance & Software
The Google Pixel 9a has a good performance as expected given that it is running on the Google Tensor G4 chip and 8GB of RAM. In terms of multitasking between applications, scrolling through social media channels or most light gaming, the phone easily managed it without any hiccups. This device has a fast response, which I did not observe any lag or slowness during my normal usage of the device. As for the heavy work, it performs well, though it may be necessary to reduce the parameters of more graphically intensive games.
The software experience of the Pixel 9a is one of the most impressive aspects of a smartphone. There is no bloat on the Pixel, and it runs on pure Android 15 making the interface easy to navigate. The design is very simple, and the process of using apps and gestures is smooth. The updates help me have the current features, security enhancements, and to solve some common problems with the program. The Google Assistant is also very good, coming with voice commands that are compatible with applications and the functions of the device.

It also has a few convenient software features such as Live Translate and Call Screening that adds to its functionality. Also, some of the Pixel-exclusive, such as the Magic Eraser, and At a Glance are highly applicable and entertaining.
Google Pixel 9a has a premium quality and high-end performance and software, and it is almost impossible to find a better user experience at this price. It is especially suitable for all those who are looking for a powerful device equipped with an intelligent voice assistant.
AnTuTu Benchmark & GeekBench Score
The Pixel 9a offers good value for the money by having a Tensor G4 processor and 8GB of RAM. In real-world use, it performs multitasking, browsing, and light gaming very effortlessly.
In the AnTuTu v10 Benchmark, it was able to raise a score of 1,071,616 that ranked it at 89% superior to other smartphones in its category.

Geekbench 6, scored 1677 in single core and 4067 in the multi-core tests for powerful processor performance.
These scores point to the fact that the Pixel 9a is good for basic usage and can handle some form of multitasking. It is not a machine designed for intensive gaming or high-end applications, but it does provide reasonable performance for the price range it belongs to.
Battery & Charging
The battery of the Google Pixel 9a is 5,100mAh, and in my experience, this is quite sufficient for the entire day. It was only on a typical day that I was able to go through my activities of browsing, socializing, using the camera and streaming without having to recharge the battery. I used it for moderate to heavy usage, and I did not have to recharge it before the day ends.
The battery is managed quite effectively by Android 15 so that the apps run in the background without consuming much power. It is why I used the Extreme Battery Saver mode quite rarely but it was good to have it for those moments when I needed an extra hour or two.

Charging is also good with a 23W fast charging which is quite good compared to other devices in the market but not the fastest. The battery capacity took approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to get fully charged which is quite reasonable for a mid range mobile gadget. On the downside, there is no wireless charging which means that the wired option has to be used in this case.
The Pixel 9a is good for most people as it strikes a good balance between power and battery efficiency and it could have benefited from better charging speeds and wireless charging capability.
Google Pixel 9a price in Bangladesh
The Google Pixel 9a price in Bangladesh is BDT 70,000 (Unofficial) for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of phone storage.
However, it is also necessary to mention that the given price is not official as Pixel 9a has not been launched officially in Bangladesh yet. Hence, the availability and price might also differ from one store or country to the other.
For those planning on getting the Pixel 9a, it would be advisable to contact the local stores to get the correct prices nearer to the time of purchase.
Final Word
Having used the Google Pixel 9a, I must concur with other reviewers and say that it is one of the best mid-rangers in the market today. It is good in the aspect of the camera, it has great software, and it has a good battery backup. The performance is quite responsive and it has the ‘pure Android’ feel which is highly appreciated. As for charging, yes, such a rate could be faster, although the value offered is rather impressive. All in all, for those who are seeking for a reliable, balanced smartphone with no frills, Google Pixel 9a will be a great choice.
