The Vivo V40 Features an Advanced AMOLED Display, Enhanced Cameras with ZEISS Optics, IP68 Protection, and Increased Battery Capacity while Maintaining the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. An Evaluation of its Qualities

The Vivo V40 builds upon the foundation of the prior V30 model with a focus on display, camera, and battery improvements to enhance the user experience. Key upgrades include a higher resolution AMOLED screen, multi-lens rear camera system engineered in collaboration with optical manufacturer ZEISS, full water and dust resistance certified to IP68 standards, and a larger battery.

At the same time, the device retains the powerful and efficient Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 system-on-chip. Here we will know more about Vivo V40, and its price in Bangladesh.

An In-depth Review on Vivo V40

Vivo V40 was released recently. Are you thinking of buying this phone? So what you need to know before buying. Here we are for details about all those issues.

Design & Build Quality

The design of the new Vivo V40, they have really changed things this time with the circular camera module in the upper left corner of the back. Just below it is this ring of cool light they call the aura light. The sides of the phone curve nicely and the back is made of glass. Some may not like that style but I think it looks really clean and simple.

One really impressive thing is how thin they made it considering the massive 5,500mAh battery inside. It is only 7.6 mm thick and weighs 190 grams. It's one of the slimmest phones with a battery of that size. This makes it very easy and comfortable to use with one hand. And it's good to know that it has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. So you don't need to worry if you accidentally get wet.

Cameras

Let's talk about the camera of the new LG V40 phone. The rear has a dual camera setup with some really impressive specs. The main camera has a massive 50 megapixel sensor with a large aperture of f/1.9. It also has phase detection autofocus and optical image stabilization to help get sharp, clear shots. Assisting the main camera is an ultra-wide-angle lens that can fit much more into every photo. Its sensor is also a high-resolution 50 megapixel and has a wide 119 degree field of view.

LG is really focusing on camera quality this time around. They partnered with ZEISS, a famous camera brand, to help design the lenses. Even the cameras have ZEISS branding. To help photos look more natural, especially in low light, they've included something called "Aura Light." It works like a soft flash ring around the camera. It should illuminate subjects without harsh shadows like regular flash. The selfie camera is also a powerful 50 megapixel that helps your self portraits look their best

It has different "styles" like you would see on a DSLR lens. You can choose between wide angle and telephoto looks. Edge detection was also spot on – it knew exactly where to blur the background. With all the different artistic filters and light presets, taking portraits is super fun on this phone. Overall the cameras seem to be one of the biggest strengths of the LG V40.

Performance & Software

This is one of the few phones powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. It has an Octa-core Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The powerful 2.63 GHz ARM Cortex-A715, along with 3 performance cores up to 2.4 GHz and 4 efficiency cores up to 1.8 GHz. The chipset is manufactured using TSMC's advanced 4nm and it promises a 15% boost in CPU performance over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The phone has a large vapor chamber for cooling, though they didn't share the exact size.

Graphics are handled by the capable Adreno 720 GPU. I didn't notice any lag or frame drops in graphic-heavy games. It also stayed reasonably cool even under intense use. In the 3D Mark wildlife stress test, it scored an impressive 99.6% while only heating up from 29 to 42 degrees. You can check out some synthetic benchmark scores below too.

Software-wise, the phone runs on Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14 on top. Buyers will get 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches. Funtouch OS 14 brings features like Smooth Experience, Visual Smoothness, enhanced multitasking, more personalization options like kinetic wallpapers, custom lock screen clock styles and fonts.

Display

This phone has a 6.78 inch screen which is AMOLED with a super high resolution of 1260x2800 pixels. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and is incredibly bright at 4,500 nits. At over 450 pixels per inch, the display is extremely sharp and looks good from any angle.

The curved edges on the display are definitely a personal preference. With a curved screen you sometimes accidentally touch things on the edges or can't see parts of the display from the side. Overall, the screen of this phone is top notch. It's super responsive, has amazing contrast, and the colors just pop. The display really delivers in every way.

Battery & Charging

The LG V40 ThinQ features a sizable 5,500mAh battery capacity and 80W fast charging support, enabling it to provide satisfactory runtime during average daily usage. With normal daily activities such as web browsing, content consumption, and communication apps, there was consistently battery power remaining at the conclusion of each day - a reassuring sign of effective energy management.

According to test results from PCMark, the mobile device maintained a charge for 13 hours during rigorous benchmark evaluations, performing competitively with peer products in this price category in terms of endurance capabilities.

Vivo V40 price in Bangladesh

Vivo V40 price in Bangladesh is BDT 53,000 (Unofficial). It is not yet official in Bangladesh, but you will get it unofficially. It has 12GB LPDDR4X version RAM, and 256GB UFS 2.2 version ROM. If you want to buy this phone, you can buy it from retail shops, or online shops.

Final Word

The Vivo V40 excels in camera, display, and battery life compared to its predecessor, the V30. Its performance is capable, relying on a processor that, while proven, is not the most advanced available within its price range.

While the V40 advances Vivo's offerings in some areas, its processor choice and continued lack of NFC compatibility mean it does not quite reach the standards of the most fully-featured devices in its price class.
